Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 5.63% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Semapa (ELI: SEM ), which fell 1.01% or 0.15 points to trade at 14.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) fell 1.02% or 0.06 points to end at 5.84 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) was down 1.16% or 0.10 points to 8.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ), which fell 8.96% or 1.29 points to trade at 13.12 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) declined 8.08% or 0.26 points to end at 2.90 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) was down 6.78% or 0.21 points to 2.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 1 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.96% or 1.29 to 13.12.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 1.74% or 1.14 to $64.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.81% or 1.12 to hit $60.87 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.28% or 38.96 to trade at $2,996.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.95% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 103.28.
